Emergency Escape from Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
Life & Rescue International’s course for Emergency Escape from Elevated Work Platform is designed to develop knowledge, skills and abilities in performing a Controlled Descent Escape from an Elevated Work Platform.
This course is designed to build the abilities of the candidates to a sufficient level for them to perform a self rescue (controlled descent) to escape from a raised basket of an Elevated Work Platform in the unlikely event that there is an issue with the controls or an incident requiring escape.
In this course students acquire a variety of skills including:- Self rescue techniques
- Safe use and maintenance of equipment
- Awareness of emergency escape hazards
- Awareness of Suspension Intolerance
PRECOURSE REQUIREMENTS:
It is highly recommended that participants have successfully completed a work safely at heights course prior to undertaking EWP emergency escape.
Note: For current ESI workers Life & Rescue International can provide nationally recognised and endorsed refresher training units of competency required for gaining and maintaining access to the electrical supply industry.

VOCATIONAL OUTCOMES:
- Upon satisfactory completion of this course, participants will be issued with a statement of attainment recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework and issued under authority of the National Vocational Education and Regulator Act 2011 or competency UETTDRRF03A Perform EWP Rescue.
